.....The Hilltop School (District 30) was a joint district with Elbert County. The first building in the district was built in 1888 and was a small building which was replaced by a larger one in 1897. The 1897 building was located at the intersection of Flintwood and Democrat Roads, about one quarter mile to the west of the 1888 log building. The school acted as a community center for the area, and in later years, an addition was made to accommodate a teacher's residence. Hilltop was one of the schools that joined to form the Parker Consolidated School in 1959. The building is still used by the Hilltop Social Club as a community center.
